Administrators can organize portal navigation around the records, resources, and external destinations that customers need, using clear customer-facing labels and a deliberate menu order.
Add an object menu item
- Open the intended HubSpot CMS page, select the WoodsPortal module, and expand Menu Options.
- Add the supported standard or custom HubSpot object.
- Enter a customer-facing name and description. Do not expose internal object names unless they are already meaningful to customers.
- Select or enter the object identifier when the configuration requires it.
- Choose the display properties that help users recognize records in the menu destination.
- Enable primary-company data only when the portal's access model and intended experience require it.
- Apply a pipeline filter when only records from specific pipelines should appear.
Add an external or embedded destination
- Enable Custom Menu, add an item, then complete Menu Name, Menu URL, and Icon SVG Code.
- Choose embedded-frame behavior only when the destination supports embedding and the experience has been tested.
- Choose Open in New Tab when the destination should use a separate browser context. Choose Iframe only after confirming that the destination supports embedding.
Set icons and order
- Add an approved SVG icon when the menu item supports a custom icon.
- Use simple icons with a consistent visual weight and no embedded scripts.
- Reorder menu items so the most common customer tasks appear first.
- Select Apply changes, then review the navigation with a representative portal role.
Quality and access checks
- Confirm that each label uses customer language and each description explains the destination.
- Confirm that object items show only records and properties the test user may access.
- Test pipeline filters with records inside and outside the selected pipelines.
- Test every external or embedded destination while signed in as a portal user.
- If an item is missing, confirm the object, URL property, role permissions, and portal assignment.
