Right-sidebar cards can give portal users quick access to related records or contextual destinations while they work with a primary record.
Plan the sidebar
- Choose the related information that helps a portal user understand or act on the primary record.
- Use one or two related-object cards when those slots are available in the selected record layout.
- Keep sidebar content concise so it supports the main record rather than competing with it.
Configure a related-object card
- Open the intended HubSpot CMS page, select the WoodsPortal module, expand Dashboard, and enable Enable Right Sidebar.
- Under Right Sidebar Objects, choose the supported standard or custom objects for the sidebar.
- Enter a customer-facing card name and the object identifier when required.
- Choose the properties that help users identify and understand the related record.
- Use primary-company data only when it is part of the portal's intended access model.
- Apply a pipeline filter when the card should show only related records from selected pipelines.
Configure contextual links
- Select a supported URL property when the card should open a related destination.
- Use an embedded frame only when the destination supports embedding and the customer experience has been tested.
- Use a normal or new-tab link when embedding is blocked or inappropriate.
Test and troubleshoot
- Open a representative primary record as a portal user and confirm that the sidebar appears in the intended position.
- Confirm that related records respect association, pipeline, object, and property permissions.
- Test the empty state when no eligible related record exists.
- If a card is missing, confirm the selected object, relationship, pipeline filter, role permissions, and record-layout assignment.
- If a destination will not load in an embedded frame, switch to an allowed link behavior.
Figure: Enable the right sidebar, select its objects in the HubSpot CMS module editor, and verify related-record cards on a portal record.
