Overview

WoodsPortal lets you fully tailor the “Create [Object]” form for any HubSpot object (standard or custom). In the Admin, you choose which properties appear, include associated-object dropdowns, apply conditional logic, and adjust field labels—all of which immediately reflect in your portal’s Create form.

Before you begin

  • Admin permissions: You must be a Super Admin or Partner Admin in HubSpot.

  • Object activation: Confirm your target object (e.g., Tickets, Custom Projects) is enabled under WoodsPortal Admin > HubSpot Objects.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the Form Editor

    • In WoodsPortal Admin, navigate to HubSpot Objects.

    • Select the object (e.g., Tickets) and click Configure.

    • Switch to the Form tab.

  2. Remove Unwanted Fields

    • Hover over any default field (e.g., Ticket Owner) and click the trash icon to remove it.

  3. Add Properties & Associations

    • In the Properties sidebar, click any property to add it to the form (e.g., Priority, Category, Description).

    • To include a related custom object (e.g., Custom Project), click its name to add a dropdown.

  4. Apply Conditional Logic (Optional)

    • Click a field ▶ Add Logic.

    • Define your condition (e.g., only show Custom Project options where Team equals “X”).

    • Leave blank to show all records.

  5. Rename Field Labels

    • In the form layout, click a field’s label ▶ Properties ▶ click the current text (e.g., “Ticket Description”).

    • Edit it to your preferred display name (e.g., “Description”).

  6. Reorder & Save

    • Drag fields to reposition them.

    • Click Save to publish your form changes.

  7. Verify in the Portal

    • In your live portal, go to the object’s tab (e.g., Tickets) and click Create [Object].

    • Confirm the form shows your selected fields, dropdowns, logic filters, and updated labels.

Troubleshooting

Issue Resolution
New property doesn’t appear Ensure the property’s object is activated under WoodsPortal Admin > HubSpot Objects.
Associated-object dropdown empty Check that there are existing records for that custom object in HubSpot; refresh the portal page.
Conditional logic not filtering correctly Reopen the field’s Logic settings and verify both the property and expected values are correct.
Label change not reflected Confirm you clicked Save in the form editor and refresh the portal page.
