Link newly created records to a portal user contact

When contact linking is enabled for an object, a record created by a signed-in portal user can automatically associate with that user’s HubSpot contact.

Enable contact linking

  1. Sign in to https://app.woodsportal.com as a tenant administrator.
  2. Open the HubSpot object configuration for the object portal users will create.
  3. Open the object settings related to contact or child-object association.
  4. Enable contact linking for newly created records and save the configuration.
  5. Confirm that the create form is available to users with the required object write permission.

Test the result

  1. Sign in as a safe test portal user whose account is linked to a HubSpot contact.
  2. Create a record through the configured portal form.
  3. Open the new record in HubSpot and confirm that it is associated with the signed-in contact.

Important

  • Contact linking must be configured before record creation.
  • The user still needs permission to create the object record.
  • This article does not cover administrator MFA reset because its exact scope remains backlogged for verification.
