New portal users verify their email through a single-use link. Users who forget a password can request a reset, and repeated failed password attempts can temporarily lock an account.
Verify your email
- Open the newest verification message sent to the email address used for the portal invitation.
- Select the verification link.
- Confirm that WoodsPortal reports the address as verified.
- Return to the portal login page and sign in with an available method.
Reset a forgotten password
- Open the portal or administrator login page and choose Forgot password.
- Enter the email address for the account.
- Open the newest password-reset message.
- Follow the reset link and enter a new password that satisfies the displayed requirements.
- Return to sign-in and use the new password.
Change a known administrator password
In the administrator app, open Profile Settings, then Password. Enter Old Password, New Password, and Confirm Password. Follow the requirements displayed below New Password, then select Update password.

Figure: Change a known administrator password in Profile Settings. This screen does not show the forgotten-password recovery flow or a successful reset.
If the account is temporarily locked
- Repeated incorrect passwords can temporarily lock an account. The lockout duration can depend on the portal's current security configuration.
- A successful approved recovery action, such as email verification where applicable, may clear the lockout.
- Do not continue retrying an old password while the account is locked.
Troubleshooting
- Use only the newest verification or password-reset message because older links may no longer be valid.
- If a verification link was already used, the verification flow can still return a successful state.
- If no email arrives, confirm the address, check spam filtering, and ask the portal administrator to verify the invitation and access state.
Figure pending: HubSpot confirms that WP Email Verification Link(Customer Portal) and WP Forgot Password Link(Customer Portal) properties exist, but customer verification, reset, lockout, and success screens are still needed.
